INFO ABOUT THAD

Well here is a little about myself. My name is Thaddeus Patrice,Jr. I'm 19 years old.
I live in Bladensburg, MD. I'm a volunteer firefighter at Co. 9, which is Bladensburg Volunteer
Fire and Rescue Squad. I've been there for about 2 years now. Lots of cool people down there.

I was born November 27, 1980 which happened to be thanksgiving day that year at Washington Hospital Center. I was two months early, so i was a pre-mature baby. I was a 2 pound baby. I was in the hospital until January, so the doctors could check on me and all and make sure i gained weight. Once i was out of the hospital, I live at Belford Towers in Takoma Park, MD. which is Montgomery county now. aint that a bitch. While living in Takoma Park, i all i could do was stay home and watch t.v. or play ball at the neighborhood park. Where alot of peeps played ball and developed their skills. One project from that park is a fella everyone knows now, Steve Francis, who currently plays for the Houston Rockets. I lived there til i was 6. with occassional visits to Grenada in the Carribbean to stay with family and all that.

Once i moved, to Bladensburg things changed alot. My neighborhood there was cool but new to me. I had to make new friends. I even started at a new school, St. Ambrose, in Cheverly. Met new peeps, some i still hang out with today. Spiggy, Danny, Jason, Gen, Lynne and others. With the neighborhood, we didnt have a neighborhood park around so all we could do was play soccer or football in the street. It was cool. getting used to being around new kinds i didn't know and also learning other sports. Then at the end of 5th grade, I ended up transfering to another school, St. Jeromes in Hyattsville. Who i happened in 3 and 4th grade to play basketball for. The main reason why i left was that since i played basketball for them i had to leave school early to get over to St. Jerome's to catch the bus to go to our games which were usually around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. So i had to end some of my friendships and make new ones at another school. Things in the neighborhood stayed the same all up until 7 and 8 grade. Thats when most of the other kids moved on to highschool. and i was still in grade school. So since they were gone i ended up doing my thing which ended being Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, and Track and Field. I did pretty good in all these sports. going to various camps around and all that. Even got offered a scholarship to play basketball for Pallotti High School in Laurel. It would have worked out well because i knew the coaches there and they knew how i played. My parents turned it down though. because they didn't want to drive all the way out to Laurel to bring me to school every morning. so i ended going to DeMatha High School. which i always heard about and had some friends from St. Jerome's who were going to school there, so i said ok.

DeMatha was a new experience i'll tell you. Its was the first time i've been to a school that is all boys. The first day was weird but it ended up being alright. My first year was ok. played football, baseball, and intramural basketball. And then i played AAU baskeball for a little while. Then it was my first year in getting started in the music program at DeMatha. Singing in the chorus and playing in the band. Met some cool people and all that. Went to Chicago on the band trip, was one of the best times i've ever had met a few girls, had some fun. haha. it was great. My second year was my breakthrough year, in chorus i had to audition for this MD state group and i made it. Actually i was ranked second in scoring in the state against boys and girls from freshman to seniors. It was the bomb. Had one of the best experiences there. i learned alot from the directors and other singers that were there. It actually got me more interested in music. That year i sang ended up singing in my church choir and the pg county chorus. My junior year was one of my best years at DeMatha, not just academically but musically. That year i found out that i got nominated to audition for the MENC All-Eastern Chorus. This chorus was comprised of the best singers in the east coast. All i had to was make the MD all-state group again and score high. I did this time having the best score in all of the state of Maryland. So hear comes New York city baby. We stayed in a nice ass hotel and then sang our concert at Carnegie Hall. One of the greatest music halls in the world. I felt like i was on top of the world. Then later this year we had our band trip in Orlando Fl baby. visited Disney World. Took home the top trophy in band and chorus. it was the bomb.

Senior year was basically the same but filled with visits to colleges and writing essay to colleges and all that. I got accepted to Duquesne university academically (which i was suprised about) before musically, Florida State University, Catawba, Salisbury State, Univ of MD-Eastern Shore, Temple, Drexel, Virginia Tech, and lastly Frostburg State. Thats where things went bad. My parents and i decided i should go to Frostburg. so i accepted the admission and boom set for college. Then came the trip to Myrtle Beach for the band and chorus festival. We cleaned house baby. Took every trophy of every category we could have gotten it for. except the big grand trophy for chorus, which they gave to some highschool group in virginia because they had a madrigal group( which is a group that dresses up like they are dancers of a marching band and they sing). we didn't have this group and they put it against us. It broke my heart man. I don't think i ever cried so much in my life man. Instead of taking the bus back to the hotel, a big group of us walked back to the hotel some of us blocking traffic while walking back and smoking big ass stoagies (cigars) all the way back. Everyone broke curfew that night. It was madness. An ending to a great career in music at Dematha. It was worth it all.

Then came June 6, 1998, the big day at the National Shrine in Washington D.C. We walked down the aisle and i sang along a few other seniors and sang Dematha's first school song ever in Dematha history. It turned out great, and so far as i've seen it the best rendition of it after my year. I received an award for music at graduation along with an award from the chorus department which they give to the senior that has i guess been the best out of all of them throughout the years. I didn't think i should have gotten it. I still think carmund should have gotten it. And that day ended the greatest time of my life. Highschool is the best and you can't miss it by dropping out or anything. highschool makes or breaks you. And there ends the dynasty of my journey of from being a pre-me baby to me being the person i am now.

This is the quote that i feel describes my life so far:

My life is full of empty promises And broken dreams I'm hoping things will look up But there ain't no job openings I feel discouraged hungry and malnourished Living in this house with no furnace, unfurnished And I'm sick of working dead end jobs with lame pay And I'm tired of being hired and fired the same day But fuck it, if you know the rules to the game play Cause when we die we know were all going the same way It's cool to be player, but it sucks to be the fan When all you need is bucks to be the man Plus a luxury sedan Too comfortable and roomy in a six They threw me in the mix With all these gloomy lunatics Walk around depressed And smoke a pound of ses a day And yesterday went by so quick it seems like it was just today My daughter wants to throw the ball but I'm too stressed to play Live half my life and throw the rest away

That's Rock Bottom When this life makes you mad enough to kill That's Rock Bottom When you want something bad enough you'll steal That's Rock Bottom When you feel you have had it up to here Cause you mad enough to scream but you sad enough to tear

There's people that love me and people that hate me But it's the evil that made me this backstabbing, deceitful, and crazy I want the money, the women, the fortune, and the fame That Means I'll end up burning in hell scorching in flames That means I'm stealing your checkbook and forging your name Lifetime bliss for eternal torture and pain Right now I feel like just hit the rock bottom I got problems now everybody on my blocks got 'em I'm screaming like those two cops when 2pac shot 'em Holding two glocks, I hope your doors got new locks on 'em My daughter's feet ain't got no shoes or sock's on 'em And them rings you wearing look like they got a few rocks on 'em And while you flaunting them I could be taking them to shops to pawn them I got a couple of rings and a brand new watch you want 'em? Cause I never went gold of one song I'm running up on someone's lawns with guns drawn
